Joe is the middle child of the family – and does his best to live up to every
negative stereotype associated with such a social stigma. He seems to have
acquired all the negative traits the “experts” associate with middle child
syndrome but was denied the positive ones. Neglected? That’s him. Taken for
granted? All the time.
Famous middle-children include Ted Bundy, Rasputin and Lucretia Borgia. But
then, so was George Washington. So you never can tell about these things.
Since the whole world is against him, Joe had no choice but to develop an early
independent streak. The first Republican in a long-line of leftists, Joe came of
political age in the era of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. Besides Reagan,
he credits two other people in assisting him in becoming a conservative.
The first is Bill Buckley, the founder of National Review who made it cool to be
conservative. The second is (hold your breath) James Watt, Reagan’s first – and
the all-time greatest – Secretary of the Interior. Watt’s classic tome, “The
Courage of a Conservative,” a volume the Library Journal called a “mean-spirited
diatribe larded with erroneous statements,” is now required reading on Joe’s
list of important books – surpassed only by P.J. O’Rourke’s “All the Trouble in
the World.”
Clearly the brains of the duo, Joe is on a single-minded quest to spread the
gospel of conservatism wherever he goes. But charity begins at home, so he is
anxiously waiting for his nieces to hit those rebellious teen years so he can
begin the brainwashing.
Joe also serves as editor of PoliticalUSA.com, one of the web’s longest running
political websites. His mother made him let his brother write for the site and
the rest, as they say, is history. As an aspiring novelist, Joe is at work on
his first volume – a political novel with generous helpings of betrayal, sex and
revenge. But it’s mostly about revenge.
Before turning to a life of politics, Joe was a stockbroker specializing in
emerging high tech companies. Unfortunately, he got out of the business before
the mid-90's market boom and was mired in a NASDAQ of the 700's for just about
his entire financial career. If he had held onto the stocks he owned back then
he could have retired a millionaire many years ago. Keep this in mind when you
consider his opinions.
A former intelligence analyst in the United States Navy, Joe spent the early
years of his adult life traveling around several Asian countries and specialized
in the Soviet naval forces surface threat, Iranian air defenses and communist
insurgency.
Joe, the pro-life, anti-gay marriage conservative, is divorced, happily single
and doesn’t particularly like children (but he still doesn’t think you should
kill them.).
