It is seemingly going to take a lot to get Clinton's appointed successor, Al Gore, to give up his notion of ruling from the White House and concede the election to George W. Bush. It might take a majority of powerful House and Senate Democrats staging their own private revolt against the Gore-Lieberman tactics to remove Attila Al from the race. His inner self has had eight years to live for the moment that is slipping through his hands, thus dooming him to life as a political non-entity. The powerful control used by the Clintons to live above the law for the past eight years has been indelibly impressed into Al Gore's dictatorial thought processes. "If they can do it, why can't I?" So he presses on, shamelessly unwilling to concede and blatantly fighting a battle for his own ego's survival behind a transparent veil of "the will of the people." Any candidate willing to tear a nation apart so he can rule it is unfit for the office of the president of that nation. That is precisely what Al Gore is willing to do and it is precisely what he is ... unfit to lead (or rule) the United States. His tenacity in holding on until his strategists can manipulate, bend, twist and mutilate courts and chads until he appears to have won the Florida election reveal a lot about this man that many of us have known for years. He is not a leader, he has the ego and obsessive drive of a dictator. Hopefully, the Supreme Court of the United States will put an end to Al Gore's delusions of grandeur by a court decision from which there is no appeal. We are fortunate that in the United States, the president is commander-in-chief of the military but not in the sense that produces the leader of a military coup after the manner of Castro and other dictators. Not unless Gore wins. I have no doubt that Al Gore would have no hesitancy to use the military or the national guard to ensure that his will be done. But, Gore lacks the charm and charisma of Bill Clinton, the ultimate politician who retained the nation's confidence for job performance while disgracing the office of the president. That was quite a feat. However, if one traces the trail of bodies and felons in the wake of the Clinton administration, it really is quite astonishing. Al Capone would be jealous. Al Gore, lacking both charm and charisma, if he can maneuver his way into the presidency, is just as ruthless as Clinton or Capone, but he will never be able to hide the fact that his personality is more like Capone's than Clinton's. Only now, it's obvious to anyone who isn't blindly and rabidly a party-line Democrat regardless of consequences. The White House is under siege. The Constitution is under attack. America lies at the crossroads of socialism vs. liberty. George W. Bush is the duly elected President of the United States. If he is unseated, it will not be a victory, it will be a coup. And it will not be the last, because Gore will never give up. Slobodan Milosevic must be laughing at the United States Election 2024.
